Sardine Ochazuke

Ingredients (serves 2)

1 cup cooked rice

1/4 cup dried wakame seaweed

3 cups hot green tea (preferably sencha or genmaicha)

1 tin PYSCIS sardines "royale" or "taste" 1/4 cup toasted mixed black & white sesame seeds

A sprinkle of ceremonial grade matcha powder Instructions

  1. Rehydrate the dried wakame in the hot green tea for a few minutes

  2. Divide the cooked rice into two bowls. Pour the green tea (along with the rehydrated wakame) over the rice and let it steep for a minute before stirring

  3. Nestle a few sardines on top of each rice bowl, then sprinkle a small amount of matcha powder (using a mesh sieve) and the toasted sesame seeds
